"Food Network Favorites: Recipes From Our All-Star Chefs" is an interesting cookbook with numerous standout recipes and great brief interviews with the chefs explaining their viewpoints on a variety of things. Those are the pros of the book: the cons are that along with some great recipes there are quite a few that are not especially impressive and are certainly not up to the standards I would expect from a hand-picked collection of dishes from chefs of this caliber. Another minor quibble is that not all the recipes have illustrations, so being able to envision the final product is an important skill to have if you are actually going to attempt some of these dishes.

Most of the chefs had at least one good signature dish on display, although nothing from Michael Chiarello was remotely tempting for me and the only thing from Wolfgang Puck that I was interested in was a pizza (imagine that.) On the other end of the spectrum, Alton Brown and Bobby Flay turned in typically excellent performances with well-selected and appetizing recipes (try especially Alton's "Pressure Cooker Chili" and Bobby's "Spice-Rubbed Pork Tenderloin with Ancho Chile-Mustard Sauce.") Mario Batali and Tyler Florence are also well represented here.

This is not the best collection of celebrity recipes I have ever seen, and were it marketed exclusively as such I would probably give the book three stars; I really enjoyed the wide ranging comments from the chefs about their craft, which combined with some good tips and techniques made this a four star book.

not all the recipes have photos, and some of the ingredients are not easy to find. some recipes are kind of hard, so if youre looking for something easy or quick, this isnt for you!
This book contains a collection of recipes different Chefs, interesting recipes that I know that I am going to enjoy cooking.
great book - would buy again from seller
Arrived sooner than expected, in good shape and packaged well. Yes I recommend this seller and this cook book which I found enjoyable and will try the recipes. I liked learning about the chefs as well. I watch the food channel religiously.
Very nice book. Arrived in great condition and full of wonderful information. I am very pleased with it.
"Food Network Favorites Recipes from Our All-Star Chefs" was my first cookbook purchase connected to the "Food Network", and it was a great way to start my collection! The format is friendly, the food is flavorful and fixable. The book is overflowing with relaxed and revealing interviews and insights from some of TV's favorite celebrity chefs. The food photos are gorgeous, and the recipes are well laid out and easy to follow. I also greatly enjoyed the "insider" pages from the Food Network kitchens. A cookbook to be often used and read.
This recipe book is really good. This book has the best chefs sharing their best recipes. I love pretty much every Chef on the Food Network Channel, but my favorites are Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, and Emeril. I have tried several recipes from this book and they turn out really great. I love learning how to make new dishes. Some of the recipes in this book were easy and some was a little challenging for me, but eventually I will be able to prepare all the meals in this book
I just read a cookbook from the staff at The Food Network. Lots of fine looking recipes (a couple of which I have already tried out); this one represents a sampling of recipes from some of the chefs themselves--from Mario Batali to Rachael Ray to Emeril Lagasse to Bobby Flay to Alton Brown to Wolfgang Puck to Paula Deen and so on. One nice touch part of the receipts from this book goes to the chefs' favorite charities (e.g., Alton Brown and Heifer International, Giada De Laurentis and Second Harvest, Bobby Flay and Meals on Wheels).

Each chef provides 10 recipes (and, as a bonus, the staff at Food Kitchen adds an extra ten as well). Each section begins with questions of and answers from the chefs, adding a nice personal touch.

Let's take a look at some illustrations of what is in this book. Alton Brown's recipe for French Onion Soup looks delicious. He adds touches that have never been a part of my recipe--but those extras look pretty cool (e.g., apple cider and a splash of cognac). An example of Bobby Flay's recipes--Spice-rubbed pork tenderloin with ancho chile-mustard sauce. I have tried for a long time to come up with tasty recipes for pork tenderloin. Many end up pretty lame. This one is not likely to be considered lame. One creates a spice rub, including ancho chile powder as well as three other chile powders. The ancho chile mustard sauce includes creme fraiche plus chipotle and ancho chile. Then, the tenderloins themselves.

From Emeril, a tasty salad, Baby arugula with country ham, goat cheese, dried cherries, and walnut vinaigrette. The dressing is exquisite, including walnuts, vinegar, honey, shallots, and oil. Add some ham and goat cheese. . . .

Finally, Mario Batali's simple recipe for Penne with Cauliflower (by the way, some of the recipes in this volume will be awfully challenging to home chefs). Olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, cauliflower, salt, penne, parsley, pepper, and some cheese (such as pecorino or parmigiano-reggiano). Put it all together and a tasty, simple, and pretty healthy dish.

So, a nice change of pace, featuring some recipes of well-known Food Network chefs. I enjoyed simply looking at the recipes, imagining how some of these would taste, and eying the photos of some of the resulting dishes.
